The Governor returned from a regional tour of Hindmarsh Shire and attended the Victoria Police Graduation Ceremony and Commemoration of the new Victoria Police Ensign at the Victoria Police Academy.
The Governor commenced a regional tour of Hindmarsh Shire with a welcome and briefing from the Mayor, CEO and Councillors before visiting the Nhill Neighbourhood House Learning Centre and meeting some of the local Karen people. The Governor met with volunteers at the Nhill Aviation Heritage Centre, where she toured the facility, followed by a visit to Dimboola Memorial Secondary College where she lunched with students and staff. Later, the Governor toured Luv-a-Duck and the West Wimmera Health Service Nhill Campus. The Governor concluded her official visit to Hindmarsh Shire as guest of honour at a dinner hosted by the local community.
The Governor opened the new home of Horsham Men's Shed and met with local farmers, Geoff & Christine Rethus. The Governor then unveiled the 'Framing The Wimmera' exhibit in Natimuk before touring the Natimuk & District Gymnastics Club. The Governor also toured Horsham Special School where she lunched with students and staff, followed by a visit to the Australian Grains Gene Bank. Later, the Governor concluded her official visit to Horsham Rural City with a visit to the Horsham Motorcycle Club to view a motocross display.
The Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council and commenced a regional tour of Horsham Rural City Council where she received a briefing by the Mayor, CEO and Councillors. The Governor was then welcomed by local elders and toured the health and wellbeing services at Goolum Goolum Aboriginal Co-operative where she opened the new Aunty Irene Harrison Gathering Place. The Governor also met with young leaders and the Young G migrant group at the Nexus Youth Resource Centre and later was welcomed at a civic reception hosted by the Mayor.
The Governor and Judge Howard hosted a dinner in honour of Mr Nechemia (Chemi) Peres, Chairman of the Board of The Peres Centre for Peace.
The Governor hosted the St John Ambulance Annual Parade for Volunteers and presided at the Awards Ceremony.
The Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.
On Tuesday, the Governor received Ms Erica Frydenberg, President, Oz Child, then Mr James Miller, Chair, Infrastructure Victoria and later Major General David McLachlan AO (Ret’d), State President, RSL (Victorian Branch).
On Monday, the Governor received Sir Jonathan Mills AO, Creative Adviser, ANZAC Centenary Arts and Culture Fund.
The Governor, accompanied by Judge Howard, spoke at the opening ceremony of the World Chinese Economic Summit in London. The Governor and Judge Howard departed London for Paris, where they were hosted for dinner by Mr Stephen Brady AO CVO, Australian Ambassador to France and Mr Peter Stephens. Mr Geoffrey Conaghan, Agent-General for Victoria to the United Kingdom, laid a wreath at the Australian War Memorial, Hyde Park Corner, on behalf of the Governor of Victoria.
The Lieutenant-Governor the Hon. Marilyn Warren AC hosted a reception at Government House on the occasion of World Diabetes Day 2015 and presented the 2016 Diabetes Australia Research Program grants to Victorian recipients.
