Australian Awards and Honours

  

The Order of Australia awards are announced twice each year - on Australia Day and on the Queen's Birthday - to recognise outstanding service.  

The Governor conducts the presentation of national honours and awards to Victorians twice a year. These ceremonies take place at Government House and are usually held in May and September. Information on how to nominate someone for an honour or award is provided below.

How to Nominate

 

Order of Australia and Australian Bravery Awards 

The Office of the Governor does not handle the nominations for Australian Awards or Bravery Awards. If you would like to nominate a person for an Australian Award or a Bravery Award , you can find information and nomination details on the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet website.

 

 

Australian of the Year Awards

The National Australia Day Council manages the Australian of the Year Awards. Victorian nominations are assessed in conjunction with the Australia Day Committee (Victoria). Further information on the Australian of the Year Awards and online nomination forms are available at the Australian of the Year website or telephone (02) 6120 0600.

 

 

The Public Service Medal (PSM)

The Public Service Medal formally recognises outstanding service by public servants not eligible for other service awards. Information and nomination forms are available at the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet Award nominations website
