The Governor received the call of Professor Carolyn Evans, Honorary Secretary, and Professor Marnie Hughes-Warrington, National Secretary of the Rhodes Scholarships in Australia, before chairing a meeting of the Rhodes Scholarship Selection Committee. Later, The Governor, accompanied by Mr Anthony Howard QC, attended the Annual Burnet Oration, where the Governor introduced the 2016 Orator, the Honourable Dame Quentin Bryce AD CVO.
The Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council. The Governor received the call of Her Excellency, Dr Anna Elisabeth Prinz, German Ambassador to Australia. The Governor and Mr Anthony Howard QC visited CO.AS.IT and toured the Museo Italiano in Carlton. Later, the Governor, accompanied by Mr Howard, delivered the keynote address at the L'Oreal-UNESCO for Women in Science Ceremony.
The Governor received the call of Mr Richard Bolt, Secretary, Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources. Later, the Governor received the call of Professor Glyn Davis AC, Vice-Chancellor, University of Melbourne.
The Governor and Mr Anthony Howard QC attended the Australian Premiere Opening Night of Kinky Boots at Her Majesty's Theatre.
The Governor and Mr Anthony Howard QC hosted the second of two 2016 Queen's Birthday Investitures of Australian Honours and Awards. Later, the Governor and Mr Howard received Major General David McLachlan AO (retd) and Mrs Louise McLachlan.
The Governor received the call of Mr Craig Lapsley PSM, Commissioner, Emergency Services Victoria. The Governor was sworn-in as a Deputy Governor-General and Administrator of the Commonwealth. The Governor and Mr Anthony Howard QC signed the condolence book for the King of Thailand at the Consulate of Thailand.
The Governor and Mr Anthony Howard QC hosted the first of two 2016 Queen's Birthday Investitures of Australian Honours and Awards. Later, the Governor and Mr Howard attended the 2016 CPA Australia Congress where the Governor gave the 14th Neil Walker Memorial Lecture.
The Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council. The Governor received the call of Mr Jim Miller, Chair, and Ms Adele McCarthy, Director of Strategy, Infrastructure Victoria. Later, the Governor and Mr Anthony Howard QC visited the Phillip Island Nature Park, sister park with Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Base, China.
The Governor and Mr Anthony Howard QC received the call of Mr Hitoshi Tanemura, Chairman of Noritake and Head of the Chubu Association of Corporate Executives delegation, and Mrs Tanemura. Later, the Governor and Mr Howard hosted a reception for the National Youth Science Forum.
Mr Anthony Howard QC opened the 25th Anniversary Conference of the Australasian Military Medicine Association at Crown Promenade. Later, Mr Howard opened the Friends of the Royal Botanic Gardens 'The Art of Botanical Illustration' Exhibition at Domain House.
