On Australia Day 2025, Government House Victoria invites you to join us for our annual January Open Day, returning with another diverse program of entertainment for all ages.
Guests will be able to explore the historic State and Governor's Apartments with a self-guided tour of one of Victoria’s most iconic buildings.
Around the gardens, visitors will be able to enjoy live performances, free activities, and roving entertainment throughout the day.
You can pack a picnic to enjoy with views of the city skyline and Government House, or purchase from food vendors and community barbeques on-site.
At 12:15pm, the Western Lawn will be the best vantage point to view the RAAF Aircraft Flyover.
Entry is free, with gates opening at 10:30am and closing at 3:30pm, with last entry for the self-guided House tour at 4pm.

Government House will also host the Official Australia Day Flag-Raising Ceremony. Members of the public wishing to watch the invite-only ceremony can view it via the livestream.
