Notes on the program of the Governor of Victoria.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, presided at a meeting of the Executive Council before, accompanied by Mr Anthony Howard AM QC, officially opening the St Catherine’s Junior School.
The Governor received the call of Mr Raymond Fan, Director, and Ms Winnie Chan, Deputy Director, Hong Kong Economic Trade Office.
The Governor and Mr Howard then hosted the 2019 Australian International Airshow Reception and dinner.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, received Professor Duncan Maskell, Vice Chancellor, the University of Melbourne before receiving HE Paul Gulleik Larsen, Ambassador of Norway. The Governor addressed the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office Chinese New Year Reception. Mr Howard led a tour of the State Apartments for Gleneagles Secondary College. They then hosted a dinner in honour of Major General Ido Nehushtan (Ret’d) and Mrs Orna Nehushtan.
The Hon. Linda Dessau AC and Mr Anthony Howard AM QC attended the opening of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, and Mr Anthony Howard AM QC, toured Note Printing Australia before farwelling HE Reiichiro Takahashi, Ambassador of Japan to Australia, and Madam Masako Takahashi.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, and Mr Anthony Howard AM QC, hosted the Hansen Scholarship Program Launch. They then received HE Reiichiro Takahashi, Ambassador of Japan to Australia, and Madam Masako Takahashi, before hosting a luncheon in their honour.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, and Mr Anthony Howard AM QC, hosted a reception for the 125th Anniversary of the Newsboys Foundation.
Later, accompanied by Mr Howard, the Governor presented the 2018 Victorian Sport Awards to the Victorian Male and Female Athlete of the Year.

The Governor then hosted a lunch with Ms Lyn Swinburne AO, Chairman Royal Women’s Hospital and Ms Terry Bracks AM, Chair Western Chances.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, received the call of Archbishop Peter A. Comensoli, Catholic Archbishop of Melbourne. Mr Anthony Howard AM QC led a tour of the State Apartments for members of the Peace and Prosperity Kitchen Garden Program, followed by a tour of the State Apartments for the Mornington U3A group.
Later, accompanied by Mr Howard, the Governor addressed the 2019 Annual Consular Corps Black-tie dinner.
During a regional visit for the 10 Year Anniversary of the 2009 Victorian Bushfires, the Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, and Mr Anthony Howard AM QC visited the Traralgon Phoenix Rising sculpture and met with Callignee community members who provided a tour of the Callignee Hall, before touring the garden at Tambreet Retreat.
They then met with Hazelwood and Jeeralang Community members and visited the Memorial Garden.
During a regional visit for the 10 Year Anniversary of the 2009 Victorian Bushfires, on Friday, the Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, and Mr Anthony Howard AM QC visited Baw Baw Shire bushfire affected areas, before touring the West Gippsland Arts Centre.
They attended a civic reception hosted by the Baw Baw Shire Council and met with Boolarra community members, before laying a wreath at the Latrobe City bushfire memorial and attending a civic reception hosted by Latrobe City Council.
