In the morning, the Governor received calls from His Excellency Mr Tha Aung Nyun, Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, followed by Mr Robert Pradolin, advocate for affordable social housing. In the afternoon, the Governor received calls from Ms Laura Anderson, Chair and Mr Graeme Lewsey, CEO, Virgin Australia Melbourne International Fashion Festival, followed by His Excellency Mr Pedro Zwahlen, Ambassador of Switzerland.
The Governor, accompanied by Mr Anthony Howard QC, delivered the inaugural "Inspiring Australians" Oration at Deakin Edge.
The Governor and Mr Anthony Howard QC hosted a reception for the National Judicial Orientation Program.
The Governor and Mr Anthony Howard QC visited the Anatomy & Pathology Museum at the University of Melbourne. Later, the Governor and Mr Howard hosted a reception to mark the 30th anniversary of the Domestic Violence Resource Centre.
The Governor presided at a meeting of Executive Council. Later, the Governor hosted a reception for Berry Street.
The Governor received the call of Ms Lyn Swinburne AM, Chair and Dr Sue Matthews, CEO of The Royal Women's Hospital.
The Governor met with the Hon. Daniel Andrews MP, Premier of Victoria.
The Governor met with Professor Wickramasinghe, wife of the PM of Sri Lanka and later with Prof. David Howarth of Cambridge University, Mrs Howarth and Dr Matt Collins QC. In the evening, the Governor introduced Deakin University's 2017 Law Oration delivered by The Honourable Ranil Wickremesinghe, PM of Sri Lanka.
The Governor, accompanied by Mr Anthony Howard QC, delivered the address at the 2017 Committee for Geelong Annual Leadership Breakfast. In the evening, the Governor and Mr Anthony Howard QC attended The Red Detachment of Women, performed by The National Ballet of China, at the Arts Centre.
The Governor presided at a meeting of Executive Council. The Governor and Mr Anthony Howard QC received the call of The Honourable Ranil Wickremesinghe, Prime Minister of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and Professor Wickramasinghe. The Governor also received the call of Mr Ross Fitzgerald, Co-Chairman, Australia-India Dialogue and later, HE Dr Ajay Marotrao Gondane, High Commissioner of India. In the evening, the Governor and Mr Howard hosted a reception for the 50th anniversary of Melbourne Youth Orchestra.
