Notes on the program of the Governor of Victoria.
While on an Official Visit to the United States of America, the Governor, the Hon Linda Dessau AC and Mr Anthony Howard AM QC met with Ms Caroline Edwards PSM, Victorian Commissioner to the Americas.
Later, the Governor and Mr Howard met with representatives from Harvard University, including James Stock, Vice Provost for Climate and Sustainability and Professor David Haig, Chair of the Committee on Australian Studies.
The Governor and Mr Howard then met with Dr Todd Golub, Director of the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard University.
The Governor, the Hon Linda Dessau AC, and Mr Anthony Howard AM QC departed Melbourne for an Official Visit to the United States of America.
The Lieutenant-Governor, Professor James Angus AO, on behalf of the Administrator, the Hon Linda Dessau AC, presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.
The Governor, the Hon Linda Dessau AC, assumed the duties of Administrator of the Commonwealth of Australia.
The Administrator received the calls of Katrina Sedgwick OAM, CEO and Director of the Melbourne Arts Precinct Corporation; and Simon Phemister, Secretary, Department of Jobs, Precincts & Regions.
In the evening, the Administrator and Mr Anthony Howard AM QC attended a dinner for the Royal Over-Seas League.
The Governor, the Hon Linda Dessau AC, gave Royal Assent and later received the call of Professor Sharon Lewin AO, Director of The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity.
In the evening, the Governor and Mr Anthony Howard AM QC hosted a Community Dinner.
Earlier, Mr Howard conducted a tour for Youth Activating Youth’s Girls Leadership Program.
The Governor, the Hon Linda Dessau AC, received the calls of the Hon Martin Pakula MP; and the Hon Tim Pallas MP, Treasurer, Minister for Economic Development, Minister for Industrial Relations.
Later, the Governor received the call of the Honourable Daniel Andrews MP, Premier of Victoria, and accompanied by Mr Howard, conducted a swearing in ceremony of the Andrews Ministry.
In the afternoon, the Governor received the video call of Tony Ellwood AM, Director, National Gallery of Victoria.
The Governor, the Hon Linda Dessau AC, received the call of the Honourable Martin Foley MP.
The Governor, the Hon Linda Dessau AC, received the call of Meredith Sussex AM, Chair of The Fishermans Bend Development Board.
The Governor, the Hon Linda Dessau AC, received the call of Her Excellency Mrs Wassane Zailachi, Ambassador of Morocco, and later received the call of Michael Kapel, CEO of mRNA Victoria.
Later, the Governor hosted the Trans-Tasman Business Circle Women Leader’s Study Tour Welcome Reception and, with Mr Anthony Howard AM QC, attended a community engagement dinner at Victoria Barracks.
The Governor, the Hon Linda Dessau AC, presided over a meeting of the Executive Council, and later with Mr Anthony Howard AM QC hosted a performance from the Australian National Academy of Music, as part of the Governor’s Performance Series.
The Governor also met with Nye Coffey, Victorian State Manager of the Australian Electoral Commission to certify Victorian Senators to serve in the Senate of the Parliament of the Commonwealth of Australia.
In the evening, the Governor and Mr Howard hosted the Australian Maccabiah Games Team Victorian Farewell.
