The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, presided at a meeting of the Executive Council. The Governor then, with Mr Anthony Howard QC, attended the State Memorial for the Hon. Andrew McCutcheon, former Attorney-General of Victoria.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, and Mr Anthony Howard QC hosted the media call for the 2018 Australian Open men's final winner, Mr Roger Federer, before the Governor spoke at the Ecumenical Service for the Opening of the Legal Year. The Governor then received Mr Don Chu, 2017 Hong Kong Australia Business Association Award Young Professional of the Year.

The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau and Mr Anthony Howard QC attended the Australia Day Flag Raising Ceremony at Melbourne Town Hall and then hosted Open Day at Government House.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, was interviewed by Mr Jon Faine on 774 ABC Melbourne, before receiving Rabbi Yaakov Glasman, immediate past President of the Rabbinical Council of Australia and New Zealand, and then Mr Steven Smith, President of the Melbourne Cricket Club.
