Notes on the program of the Governor of Victoria.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC and Mr Anthony Howard QC met with HE Mrs Menna Rawlings CMG, High Commissioner of the United Kingdom, and the Senior Command of HMS Sutherland.
Later, the Governor received CDRE Greg Yorke CSC, Senior Naval Officer Victoria and then Ms Elisabeth Newman, Ms Freda Kaufman and Ms Janice Latham, President, Vice President and Regional President of the National Council for Women Victoria.
The Governor and Mr Howard then toured the World Mosquito Program at Monash University.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, received Mr John Harnden AM and Mr Andrew Westacott, Chairman and CEO of the Australian Grand Prix.
Mr Anthony Howard QC led a tour of the State Apartments for the NGV Women's Association.
Later, the Governor, accompanied by Mr Howard, officially opened BLOOM! International Women's Day Exhibition for Global Fund for Women, before attending a reception on HMS Sutherland.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, received Ms Tal Karp, former Matilda and host of @PlayItFwdPod, followed by Mr Michael Gallus, Founder and Director of Footys4All.
Then, with Mr Anthony Howard QC, the Governor received HE Mr Christophe Penot, Ambassador of France and Mrs Yukimi Penot.
The Governor and Mr Howard later hosted a reception for the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, welcomed students from the Warragul and District Special Development School as part of Peace and Prosperity Kitchen Garden Scarecrow Program.
The Governor then received the Hon Nicola Roxon, Adjunct Professor, Victoria University followed by Dr Paul Grimes, Victorian Public Sector Commissioner.
As Administrator of the Commonwealth, the Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, accompanied by Mr Anthony Howard QC, conducted a swearing-in for the Hon. Michael McCormack MP as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure & Transport at Government House, Canberra. Mr Howard later conducted a tour of Government House, Victoria for UA3 Hamilton.
As Administrator of the Commonwealth, the Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, and Mr Anthony Howard QC, hosted a Special Olympics at Government House, Canberra.
As Administrator of the Commonwealth, the Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, accompanied by Mr Anthony Howard QC, presented the 2018 John Monash Scholarships and launched the Recent Conflicts Gallery, at the Shrine of Remembrance. They then attended the AFLW Pride Match.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, assumed administration of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia. The Governor met with Dr Helen Drennen AM, Principal, Wesley College, Trustee, Shrine of Remembrance and Monash University Council Member before, with Mr Anthony Howard QC, hosting a reception for TRY Australia's 135th Anniversary. They then visited the Consulate of Denmark where they signed the condolence book for HRH Prince Henrik, the late husband of HM The Queen of Denmark.
During a regional tour to Ararat, the Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, toured the kitchen garden of the Royal Mail Hotel, planted an oak tree at the Willaura Railway Station, visited the Moyston General Store and Wills Memorial, took a walk with Ararat Active, toured AME Systems and Legacy House, and then hosted a reception for members of the Ararat Community.
The Governor, the Hon. Linda Dessau AC, presided at a meeting of the Executive Council. During a regional tour to Ararat, the Governor met with Ararat Rural City Councillors and Executive Team, laid a wreath on behalf of the people of Victoria at the Ararat War Memorial, toured Ararat West Primary School and then conducted an Agricultural Round Table.
