Notes on the program of the Governor of Victoria.
The Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council and later received the call of Mr Andrew Campbell, Executive Director, Cabinet Office, Dept of Premier & Cabinet and Mr Jonathan Burke, Manager Parliament, Legislation and Executive Council. Later, the Governor and Mr Anthony Howard QC, attended the Melbourne Accelerator Program (MAPS) Gala Entrepreneurship Dinner.
The Governor received the call of Her Excellency, Ms Lucky Sherpa, Ambassador of Nepal. Mr Howard led a tour of the State Apartments for Victorian Public Service graduates and trainees.
The Governor and Mr Howard welcomed visitors to Government House as part of the 2017 Open House Melbourne program.
The Governor, accompanied by Mr Anthony Howard QC presented the Higgins Community Services Awards at the Malvern Town Hall.
The Governor met with Mr Tim Smith, MP, Shadow Parliamentary Secretary to the Leader of the Opposition, Population Policy and Housing Affordability; and later met with Mr Matt Lowe, Executive Director, Veterans, Economic Development and International, Department of Premier and Cabinet.
The Governor and Mr Anthony Howard QC hosted a welcome reception for students from 15 of Victoria’s sister schools in Jiangsu Province, China.
The Governor then received the call of the Rt Hon Datuk Amar Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Bin Tun Datuk Abang Haki, Chief Minister of Sarawak and the Hon Tan Sri Datuk Amar Haji Mohamed Bin Abdul Ghani, State Secretary. Sarawak, Malaysia.
Later, the Governor and Mr Howard hosted a reception for the inaugural Australia-Japan Youth Dialogue.
The Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.
The Governor received the call of Ms Kath Mainland CBE, Chief Executive Officer, and Mr Jonathan Holloway, Artistic Director, Melbourne Festival.
Later, the Governor received the call of Professor Euan Wallace AM, Chief Executive Officer of Safer Care, Victoria, and then received the call of Mr Henry Dow, President, Melbourne Law School Students Society
The Governor received the call of Mr Brett Stevens, Victorian Government Commissioner to South East Asia.
Later, the Governor and Mr Anthony Howard QC welcomed Term 3, Peace & Prosperity Garden participants.
On Friday, the Governor, accompanied by Mr Anthony Howard QC, visited the Westbourne Grammar School, Williamstown and launched the School's 150th anniversary history book. Later, the Governor and Mr Howard hosted a Reception to mark Canada's Sesquicentenary and then hosted a dinner in honour of HE Vice Admiral Paul Maddison (Ret'd), High Commissioner of Canada, and Mrs Fay Maddison.
The Governor hosted lunch for Lady Southey AC, former Lieutenant Governor of Victoria. In the evening, the Governor and Mr Anthony Howard QC attended the Opening Night of Bell Shakespeare, The Merchant of Venice.
