Notes on the program of the Governor of Victoria.
The Governor continued her official visit to Wangaratta Rural City. The Governor toured the Alpine MDF Factory, the Wangaratta Livestock Exchange, and visited the Christmont Winery. The Governor returned to Government House and received the call of His Excellency Dr Mark Higgie, Ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg, the European Union and NATO.
The Governor continued her official visit to Benalla Rural City and Wangaratta Rural City. In Benalla, the Governor met with local school captains, and toured the Benalla street art, the Benalla Aviation Museum and the Winton Wetlands. In Wangaratta, the Governor visited the Wangaratta Rural City Council, toured the Brown Brothers Winery, the Wangaratta Performing Arts Centre and Art Gallery, met with the Wangaratta Country Women's Association, toured the Milawa Cheese Company, and attended a civic reception hosted by the Wangaratta Rural City Council.
The Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council; and then departed on an official visit to Benalla Rural City and Wangaratta Rural City. In Benalla, the Governor visited the Benalla City Council, toured the Benalla Health precinct, the Tomorrow: Today Foundation office, the Indigenous Garden, the Australian Munitions Factory and attended a civic reception hosted by Benalla Rural City Council.
The Governor issued the writs for the Victorian Senate for the 2016 Federal Election and later received a call from Mr John Butler, Victorian Commissioner to the Middle East, Africa and Turkey.
The Governor welcomed Her Excellency Professor the Hon. Kate Warner AM, Governor of Tasmania to Government House; and officially opened Gandel House at Emmy Monash Aged Care.
The Governor received a call from Mr Jonathan Liberman, Director McCabe Centre for Law and Cancer, Cancer Council Victoria and Union for International Cancer Control.
The Governor, as Patron, received a call from Dr Muyesser Durur, President, and Ms Jan Berriman, CEO, of YWCA Victoria; and later received a call from Sir Jonathan Mills AO, Creative Adviser, ANZAC Centenary Arts and Culture Fund; and Major General David McLachlan AO (Retd). In the evening, the Governor and Judge Howard attended the National Gallery of Victoria Women's Association Gala Dinner.
The Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council. In the evening, the Governor and Judge Howard participated in the Brotherhood of St Laurence's Education First Youth Foyer program in Broadmeadows.
The Governor visited and volunteered at The Big Issue Women's Subscription Enterprise.
The Governor received a call from Judge Peter Boshier, Chief Ombudsman of New Zealand and Ms Sheryl Boshier; and as Patron-in-Chief, hosted a Mother's Day reception to mark the 160th anniversary of the Royal Women's Hospital.
