The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, received the call of His Excellency Mr Arto Haapea, Ambassador of Finland, and Andrew Fairley AM, Honorary Consul-General.

In the afternoon, the Governor received the call of Chris Barrett, Secretary, Department of Treasury and Finance.

Following this, the Governor received the call of Benyomin Klein, Michael Spigelman, Eli Szydlo, Chaim Klein, Danny Engelman, Efrayim Bloch, and Simon Weinstein, representatives of the Adass Israel Synagogue.

Then, the Governor received the call of Conrad Tribble, Consul-General of the United States of America, and Alisa Modica, Political and Economic Chief.

In the evening, the Governor hosted a ‘Jazz in the Orchard’ Reception for members of the Consular Corps, where she gave an address to mark the occasion.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.

Then, the Governor received the call of His Honour Judge Jack Vandersteen, President and Louise James, Strategic Advisor, Children’s Court of Victoria.

In the evening, the Governor hosted the Governor’s Performance Series – Choir Spectacular, where she gave an address to welcome audience members, followed by performances from Dhungala Children’s Choir, Coco’s Lunch and the Australian Girls Choir.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, hosted a farewell lunch for Commodore Greg Yorke AM CSC RAN, Senior Naval Officer for Victoria and Mrs Pam Yorke.

In the afternoon at Government House, members of the public visited for a guided twilight tour of the gardens. 

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, hosted a Christmas barbeque for staff and volunteers in Victoria’s corrections and youth justice system, where she gave a speech to recognise and thank them for their work.

In the afternoon, the Governor received the call of His Excellency Mr Gabriele Visentin, Ambassador of the European Union.

In the morning at Government House, members of the public visited for a guided tour of the State Apartments and Kitchen Garden.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, attended the official opening of Moderna Technology Centre, where she met with Michael Azrak, General Manager, Moderna Australia and New Zealand and received a tour of the facility.

Then, the Governor received the call of Martin Hosking, Chair, and Sally Noonan, Executive Director & Co-CEO, Melbourne Theatre Company.

In the evening, the Governor hosted the 2024 Victorian Multicultural Awards for Excellence, where she gave an address and presented recipients with their awards.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, provided Royal Assent before presiding at a meeting of the Executive Council.

Then, the Governor visited the Cherry Creek Youth Justice Precinct, where she met with Andrea Davidson, Acting Deputy Secretary, Youth Justice, Department of Justice and Community Safety, and other senior officials.

Following a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, the Governor received a briefing on the operations of the Precinct and met with representatives of the Precinct’s service providers.

Then, the Governor was escorted on a tour of the Precinct, where she visited a residential unit, the garden, the kitchen and the visitor’s centre.

Later, Sally Leake, Honorary Aide, representing the Governor, attended the State Funeral Service for the Honourable John Edward Delzoppo OAM at St John Cooperating Church in Neerim South.

In the afternoon, the Governor, as Patron of Australia China Business Council Victoria, hosted the ‘Women Leaders – Driving Business with China’ Forum with the Australia China Business Council Victoria and Global Victoria Women, where she gave an address to open the Forum.

In the morning at Government House, participants from the McAuley Community Services for Women visited for the Kitchen Garden Program.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, as a Dame of Grace and Deputy Prior of the Order of St John, hosted the 2024 St John Ambulance Victoria Awards Ceremony,  where she presented recipients with their awards and gave an address to mark the occasion.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, as Honorary Commodore of the Royal Australian Navy, visited HMAS Cerberus where she met with Commodore Greg Yorke AM CSC, Senior Naval Officer Victoria, and Captain Ben Favelle CSC RAN, Commanding Officer, HMAS Cerberus.

Following this, the Governor received a briefing on the Engineering Faculty.

Then, the Governor attended the Ceremonial Divisions Parade as the Reviewing Officer, during which she received the Royal Salute, inspected the Guard and gave an address to mark the occasion, before presenting honours and awards to members of the Royal Australian Navy.

Following the Parade, the Governor attended a lunch in her honour with members of the Royal Australian Navy.

In the afternoon, the Governor toured the School of Survivability and Ship Safety where she observed a firefighting exercise demonstration.

In the morning at Government House, members from the Syndal Probus Club visited for a guided tour of the State Apartments and Kitchen Garden.
