The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, as Patron, received the call of Lucy O'Sullivan, President, and Melissa Goode, Deputy President, The Queen's Fund.

Then, the Governor received the call of The Right Honourable The Lord Mayor of the City of London, Alderman Alistair King.

Following this, the Governor hosted a lunch in honour of The Right Honourable The Lord Mayor of the City of London, before farewelling him following his stay at Government House.

In the evening, the Governor, as an Honorary Member, attended the Alexandra Club Summer Cocktail Party, where she met with, Lauraine Luckock, President and Sean Moroney, General Manager and Club Secretary, The Alexandra Club.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, provided Royal Assent before presiding at a meeting of the Executive Council.

Following this, the Governor, as Patron, visited the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, where she met with Dr Sherene Devanesen AM, Board Chair, and Brendon Gardner, CEO, the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.

Then, the Governor received a briefing on gene therapy breakthroughs and the latest advances in cochlear implants, before participating in a demonstration of surgical training equipment and meeting with volunteers.

In the afternoon, the Governor received the call of Cindy Penrose, CEO, Yoorrook Justice Commission.

In the evening, Jonathan Burke, Official Secretary to the Governor, hosted the Pathways to Politics Program Lecture.

Following the lecture, the Governor hosted a reception to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Pathways to Politics Program, where she gave a speech to mark the occasion.

Major General David McLachlan AO AO (Mil) (Ret'd), representing the Governor, attended the Farewell Evensong for the Most Reverend Dr Philip Freier, Anglican Archbishop of Melbourne at St Paul’s Cathedral.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, as Patron, and Professor Glyn Davis AC, attended Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s Chinese New Year Concert at Hamer Hall, where they met with Dr David Li AM, Chair, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Board, and Angela Li.

Following the concert, the Governor and Professor Davis attended a post-event function, where the Governor gave a speech to mark the occasion.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, as Patron-in-Chief, visited the Odyssey House Victoria Lower Plenty Therapeutic Community, where she met with the Honourable Jenny Macklin AC, Chair, and Dr Stefan Gruenert, CEO, Odyssey Victoria.

Following this, the Governor received a tour of the centre and met with staff and residents.

In the evening, the Governor, and Professor Glyn Davis AC, hosted a dinner in honour of the Most Reverend Dr Philip Freier, Anglican Archbishop of Melbourne, and Joy Freier OAM, in recognition of his retirement as Anglican Archbishop of Melbourne, and service to the Victorian community.       

In the morning at Government House, members of the public visited for a guided tour of the State Apartments and Kitchen Garden.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, as Patron-in-Chief, received the call of Dr Joanna Flynn AM, President, and Terry Symonds, CEO, Berry Street.

In the afternoon, the Governor hosted an afternoon tea to celebrate Back to Back Theatre’s receipt of the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement in Theatre from the Venice Biennale, where she gave a speech to mark the occasion.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, received the call of Paul Bangay OAM, Director, Paul Bangay Design Studio.

In the evening, the Governor attended a farewell dinner for Peter Marshall AM, Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice-President, Monash University, where she met with Dr Megan Clark AC, Chancellor, and Professor Sharon Pickering, Vice-Chancellor and President, Monash University.

In the afternoon, the Governor received the call of Rob Brown, CEO, and Rick Young, Victorian Operations Manager, Fruit 2 Work.

In the evening, the Governor hosted the Swearing-in of the Honourable Chief Justice Richard Niall as the 13th Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Victoria, where she gave an address to mark the occasion.

Following the ceremony, the Governor hosted a dinner in honour of the new Chief Justice.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, and Professor Glyn Davis AC, attended Victorian Opera’s Opening Night of ‘Follies’ at the Palais Theatre, where they met with Genevieve Overell AM, Chair, Victorian Opera.

In the morning at Government House, members of Nunawading U3A visited for a guided tour of the State Apartments and Kitchen Garden, and members of the public visited for a guided tour of the gardens.

Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia and Her Excellency Vicki Treadell CMG MVO, High Commissioner for the United Kingdom were farewelled following their stay at Government House hosted by the Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC.
