Notes on the program of the Governor of Victoria.
The Governor, the Honourable Linda Dessau AM, swore in Mr Andrew Keogh as a Justice of the Common Law Division of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
The Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council; and as Patron of the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute, visited and toured the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre in Parkville. The Governor officially opened the Ivanhoe Grammar School Senior Years and Science Centre in Plenty; and later received a call from Major General David McLachlan AO, State President of the Victorian RSL.
The Governor met with The Honourable Daniel Andrews, Premier of Victoria; and later received a call from Mr Jonathan Holloway, Artistic Director of Melbourne Festival.
The Governor, accompanied by Judge Howard, attended the 2016 Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix.
The Governor officially opened the Horsham Aeromedical Transfer Station at Horsham Aerodrome.
The Governor and Judge Howard attended the ceremonial farewell of His Honour Michael Rozenes AO QC as Chief Judge of the County Court of Victoria.
The Governor commenced a regional tour of Yarriambiack Shire Council. The Governor met with Councillors of Yarriambiack Shire Council, before viewing the Brim Silos. She then officially opened the 2016 Women on Farms Gathering that evening in Hopetoun.
The Governor opened the National Public Sector Managers and Leaders Conference 2016; and attended the Islamic Museum of Australia for International Women's Day High Tea. The Governor also attended the Department of Health and Human Services Children's Day at the 2016 Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grant Prix. In the evening, the Governor and Judge Howard hosted a reception to mark the 2016 Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix.
The Governor, as Patron of Croquet Victoria, officially re-opened the Bendigo Croquet Clubhouse. In the evening, the Governor, accompanied by Judge Howard, attended the Oxfam Comedy Gala at the Palais Theatre.
The Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council; and hosted a reception to recognise the 120th anniversary of the Children's Protection Society.
The Governor accompanied by Judge Howard opened the Lorne Sculpture Biennale.
