Notes on the program of the Governor of Victoria.
The Governor, accompanied by Judge Howard, participated in The Long Walk from Federation Square and then attended the Dreamtime match between Essendon and Richmond at the MCG.
The Governor received the call of His Excellency Dr Mykola Kulinich, Ambassador of Ukraine to Australia; and the call of Mr James Larsen, Australian Ambassador to Turkey. In the evening, the Governor spoke at the Old Scotch Collegians Association Annual Dinner.
The Governor received Tim Dillon, Commissioner to Greater China; and later received Dr Kiran Martin, Founder and Director of Asha Community Health and Development Society. In the evening, the Governor, as Patron, accompanied by Judge Howard, spoke at the Committee for Melbourne Gala Dinner.
The Governor received the call of the Hon. Damian Drum MLC, Shadow Minister for Regional Development, Veterans and for Sport; and also the Victorian Police Chief Commissioner, Graham Ashton AM APM. In the evening, the Governor and Judge Howard hosted a dinner in honour of Victorian Trade Commissioners.
The Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council; and received a call from Song Yumin, Consul General of the People's Republic of China.
The Governor presided over a swearing in ceremony for the new portfolios within the Victorian Ministry; and later received a call from Russell Thomas, Chairman and Tony Dodemaide, CEO of Cricket Victoria, and Meg Lanning, Australian cricketer.
The Governor recorded a message for The Governor of Victoria Export Awards; and presented the Women in Leadership Awards at the BioMelbourne Network Connecting Women in Technology Luncheon. In the evening, the Governor, accompanied by Judge Howard, hosted a reception to mark the Centenary of Footscray Technical School and the 25th Anniversary of Victoria University; and also attended the 'Minute to Midnight' Gala Dinner at the Melbourne Zoo.
The Governor continued her official visit to Wangaratta Rural City. The Governor toured the Alpine MDF Factory, the Wangaratta Livestock Exchange, and visited the Christmont Winery. The Governor returned to Government House and received the call of His Excellency Dr Mark Higgie, Ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg, the European Union and NATO.
The Governor continued her official visit to Benalla Rural City and Wangaratta Rural City. In Benalla, the Governor met with local school captains, and toured the Benalla street art, the Benalla Aviation Museum and the Winton Wetlands. In Wangaratta, the Governor visited the Wangaratta Rural City Council, toured the Brown Brothers Winery, the Wangaratta Performing Arts Centre and Art Gallery, met with the Wangaratta Country Women's Association, toured the Milawa Cheese Company, and attended a civic reception hosted by the Wangaratta Rural City Council.
The Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council; and then departed on an official visit to Benalla Rural City and Wangaratta Rural City. In Benalla, the Governor visited the Benalla City Council, toured the Benalla Health precinct, the Tomorrow: Today Foundation office, the Indigenous Garden, the Australian Munitions Factory and attended a civic reception hosted by Benalla Rural City Council.
