Notes on the program of the Governor of Victoria.
The Governor and Judge Howard continued their official visit to Hong Kong. The Governor and Judge Howard met with Mr HL Kam and the Acting Consul-General to Hong Kong. The Governor and Judge Howard then hosted a luncheon with AustCham and Victorians living in Hong Kong. In the evening, the Governor and Judge Howard hosted a dinner for representatives of Hong Kong Business of Design Week.
The Governor, accompanied by Judge Howard, departed on an official visit to Hong Kong and China.
Judge Anthony Howard attended and spoke at the O'Brien Foundation Hummingbirds Luncheon. In the evening, the Governor, accompanied by Judge Howard, attended and gave the keynote address at the Norm Smith Oration Dinner at Melbourne Cricket Club.
The Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council. In the evening, the Governor, accompanied by Judge Howard, attended the Football Federation Australia Double Header Westfield Matildas v New Zealand and Caltex Socceroos v Greece at Etihad Stadium.
The Governor received the call of Dr Peter Rogers, current President; and Mr Quin Scalzo, incoming President of the Rotary Club of Melbourne. In the evening, the Governor spoke at the United Nations Association of Australia (Victoria) World Environment Day Awards.
The Governor delivered the keynote address at the University of Melbourne Women Leaders in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics STEM Breakfast.
The Governor received the call of former Governor-General of Australia, the Hon. Dame Quentin Bryce AD CVO; and hosted a luncheon in honour of the Murdoch Children's Research Institute Council of Ambassadors.
The Governor officially opened 'Joan's Garden' at Joan Kirner House, Williamstown Community and Education Centre in Williamstown; and later welcomed former Governor-General of Australia Dame Quentin Bryce AD CVO to Government House. In the evening, the Governor and Judge Howard hosted a reception for the 2016 Premier's Award for Health and Medical Research.
The Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council; and later laid a wreath during the Victorian Aboriginal Remembrance Service at the Shrine of Remembrance. In the evening, the Governor and Judge Howard hosted a dinner to mark the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Italian Republic.
The Governor swore in Chief Judge Peter Kidd as a Justice of the Common Law Division of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
